About Erin
Erin McCarthy is Professor of Philosophy at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY where she also teaches in the Asian Studies Program. She served on the Board of Directors of ASIANetwork from 2006-2010 and as Chair of the Board in 2008-2009. She is the author of
Ethics Embodied: Rethinking Selfhood through Japanese, Continental and Feminist Philosophies (Lexington Books, 2010). She is currently working on a project titled
(Re)imagining Maternity, a comparative feminist philosophical analysis which challenges the current norms around ideas of maternity.

Lisa Trivedi is Associate Professor of History at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, where she teaches South Asia. She is the author of
Clothing Gandhi's Nation: Homespun and Modern India (Indiana, 2007) and has served on the Board of ASIANetwork (2007-2010). Trivedi is currently working on a comparative history project titled
Bound By Cloth: women industrial textile workers in Bombay and Lancashire, 1900-1940, as well as a book on the photographs of Pranlal Patel, a well-known Ahmedabadi photographer.
